Born of This Volcano
The images in this book are of places throughout the United States that hold sacred value. The photographs were taken over the course of a three month road trip with a Calumet 4x5 monorail camera. Of 500 negatives, these ten were printed as salted paper prints and finished with Renaissance wax for this book. The prints were made in Lake Charles, LA in 2020 and the book was constructed in Richmond, VA in 2021. The pages of this book are Arches Aquarelle. The text was letterpress printed and the fonts used are Raleigh Cursive and Bernard Gothic Medium. The binding is drum leaf and the photographs are tipped in. This book was made in an edition of five.
